With my Hubby's recent issues that landed him in the hospital (3 times in the past 4 years for diabetic issues, not including the near heart attack almost 2 years ago), it has reminded me how important it is for me to monitor and plan healthy meals for my family. I had let the budget determine how well we ate most times, and it backfired. It will not happen again, let me re-assure you that.

This article from the Huffington Post, is a great little reminder of how to lose those extra pounds, safely, effectively and without crash diets. It's not so much about what you eat (it is, but there's more to it), you must actually EAT to eat right. I think that's a huge issue in our society today. We drink tons of crap all day every day, and that's where we get most of our calories from. When we do actually eat (because how many of you eat 3 meals and at least 1 snack per day?), it's garbage. Read the article and contemplate on its message before throwing the concepts out the window...it's really true.
