With a few added items and a few that I forgot to get, I spent too much on groceries and such. Before tax, we're looking at $128, and I still need to get Slaw Mix, breakfast sausage, onions, scallions, lettuce, egg roll wrappers and puff pastry sheets. So another $15 or so, for a grand total of $142...which is what I predicted I'd spend based on the menu/grocery list. However, the initial list didn't include Tylenol, Benadryl, toilet paper, bug spray, distilled water, popcorn, tortilla chips, salsa, freezer bags or cornstarch. I will have to re-evaluate the overall plan for next week to get the total back under $100...or better yet, closer to $50. At the same time, I'm attempting to balance my time with cost...with being so exhausted lately, I don't have the energy to make everything from scratch. Watch next week for the overhauled plan!
Total Food Cost: $126
Average Cost per Meal: $3.60
Average Cost per Serving: $0.72
The adventures of the Salesman's Family of 7 (soon to be!). A little blog about how to be a salesman's family frugally and responsibly...and all the wackiness that comes with it!
