Today is the day! The shower is this afternoon, about 5 hours from now actually, and I'm getting very excited!
The girls at work threw a shower for me and another former co-worker (who's due about a month after me) this past Sunday evening. We had a blast just sitting around at the buffet, chatting without a care in the world. That was the best part of all. Being able to get to know the people you work with on a more personal level, one where you don't have to worry about interruptions, PR or harassment issues (since every single one of us has a dirty mind...it's kinda funny). We ate a bunch, laughed a bunch and planned to get together about every other month just to shoot the breeze.
Today's shower is being hosted by my super crafty sister-in-law Jen of Unique Boutique. I love this woman to death for more than just being kind enough to throw this party. I threw her some ideas on what kind of shower I'd like, especially since I'm well past the cutsie showers most folks have, but everything is going to be a huge surprise for me. We are hoping for a larger turn-out than what RSVP'd but even if only 3 people show up, I'm more than thrilled at the time spent with other adults.
I will post some pics when I'm able to. And I'm 100% sure that Jen will post on her blog as well (since she's had to try hard to refrain from posting some already of the decorations!). If you're coming out today, we can't wait to see you! If not, I'm hoping to get another party going perhaps in November (a combo birthday party for Beth and welcome to the world party for the new baby), so keep your eyes open for info!
The adventures of the Salesman's Family of 7 (soon to be!). A little blog about how to be a salesman's family frugally and responsibly...and all the wackiness that comes with it!
