Ericas Shooting Star 4 Piece Crib Bedding Set from The Velvet Frog

I found this wonderful bedding set for a crib online last week and I was super excited to buy it...until I saw the price. Holy smokes, who in the world could afford over $700 for a crib set? Certainly not this family. However, I thought I'd draw some inspiration from this set to make bedding for the girls' room with some less expensive, more versatile, way more kitty hair friendly material. Faith is contemplating the colors she'd like to use, she's leaning towards some pale shades of blue and purple with hot pink accents. I figure we can switch up the colors a bit between the two bed sets, blue as the main color for Faith, purple as the main color for Beth. The sheer overlay will be a separate piece on each skirt, that way as they get older and their interests change, we can switch out that piece without having to completely redo the whole room. In addition, it will probably not be stars (as I can't find a sheer fabric with star patterns other than on this site), Faith will pick her own pattern from available fabrics, and I will choose Beth's later. Finally, when the new baby is born and we finally find out it's a girl or boy, I can decide to do the same bedding (switching up the colors) if we in fact have a girl...because they will all three be sharing a room at some point.

On a side note, there is an option to nominate a family who needs bedroom stuff for their kids on the website. I wouldn't be opposed to anyone who wanted to do that for us because it would be wonderful for Faith to at some point have a room she could be proud of before she has to go off to college. LOL
