I had to make some changes though. I only had skim milk and didn't have more than a half a cup of powdered milk. The substitution of milk fat content meant a longer time setting than the 8 hours, and it still came out watery. So, next time I make the yogurt, I'll make sure I have some whole milk and some unflavored gelatin on hand. In the mean time, I'm super happy to have found a use for my Proctor-Silex 33111Y Oval Citrus 1.5qt Slow Cooker . 1.5 qts is so small for a family as large as mine...and still not quite large enough for the full yogurt recipe (I halved the recipe).
I urge you to try this recipe sometime and let me know how it turns out!
