On the plus side, it has taught him a valuable lesson in financial responsibility. Budgeting and not counting our eggs before they are hatched, is going to be the keys to catching up. Sometimes it takes a wake up call to get back on track...and nobody's perfect ever, we all make mistakes so it's why I share with you. First off so you don't feel like you're the only one that does it, second because I want to help you so you don't make the same mistakes we do.
I've also been looking into financial planners that we can use on our cell phones. Mint.com is a good one, as long as your banks participate. We are having issues in that our paycards (prepaid debit cards that our paychecks are automatically loaded on every payday) websites aren't participating, YET. I requested they do, so hopefully soon we can access those.
In the mean time, I'm still looking for an interim site that we can use that has an Android app to use. If you know of one, please let me know!
Finally, I believe we will begin using a envelope system for our budgeting. The fees associated with our paycards are ridiculous, and if we don't have the money in the envelope, we don't buy it. End of story. Wish us luck, and I wish you luck as well! And as always, feedback and ideas are definitely welcome!
Try Easy Encelope Budget Aid by dayspring technologies.... it is a free app, and the reviews are good :) it also says you can sync 2+ phones so you can share a budget :)
